Open Hardware Canada (OH-Canada) - BoF Session

Joseph Potvin

"Open hardware" has emerged from the success of free/libre/open source software to re-invigorate the pre-1980s do-it-ourselves device-building culture, now enabled with current computing, networking and peer-production licensing. What could/should "OH-Canada" be? An association? A consortium? A marketing initiative? Is it globally franchisable (OH-Brazil, OH-Netherlands)? If autonomous worksites sign "accession" to a common protocol & mission, might OH-Canada (etc.) assist with maker worksite insurance and group coverage options, various agreement templates, and adaptable materials for marketing and learning?

Your ideas are invited.
