Dr. Geoffroy VallÃ©e is a Research Scientist in the Computer Science Group of the Computer Science and Mathematics Division at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Oak Ridge, USA. Dr. Geoffroy VallÃ©e's primary research area is operating systems, run-time systems, system tools, and high availability for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems, including virtualization challenges. He is actively involved in the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science project entitled â€śEnabling Exascale Hardware and Software Design through Scalable System Virtualizationâ€ť. Dr. VallÃ©e was also actively involved in the ORNL LDRD project â€śVirtualized System Environments for Petascale Computing and Beyondâ€ť, which aimed at studying virtualization opportunities for HPC. Dr. VallÃ©e recevied his Ph.D. from University of Rennes 1 (France) in 2004. His Ph.D. has focusing on process management and scheduling in Kerrighed Single System Image. He made his Ph.D. in the context of a collaboration between INRIA (France) and EDF (France).
