Runtime PM: Getting the best out of x86 power management
Sujith ThomasThe next generation of computing platforms are getting immensely complex and power management on them is a real hot topic. This paper gives an architectural insight on how the Runtime Power Management which is already available In the Linux kernel was effectively used to manage the subsystems and even the entire platform sleep modes for the x86 architecture. Also we would like to give a detailed case study on how we enabled the power management for the Intel's Medfield platform which has advanced power gating hardware features
