dev/ops - Managing 200+ servers

Pascal Charest

Every developers is able to manage a couple production servers. Managing hundreds of them, in different environments, is harder and requires strong system/network administrator knowledge.

This tutorial will present, configure & deploy tools to make management and fast provisioning of 200+ servers a piece of cake:

- Configuration management through Puppet backed by SVN and/or GIT data repository

- Using MCollective orchestration framework to execute parallel & sequential commands on a cluster of servers.

- OpenLDAP based user account management

- Leveraging netboot & dhcp services for ultra-fast provisionment of new systems.

Tutorial will be done with live systems, along with a downloadable presentation.
