Linux Administration - Key Services To Upgrade Your Home / Office Network

Jeff Green (mail@forjeff.com)

In the home or office, using Open Source applications to manage and protect your digital resources is both cost effective and safe. This presentation will demonstrate some key services that can be deployed and administered by novice users.

New to Linux and and frustrated by the command line? Don't worry, this presentation will also introduce graphical management tools to get you up and running in no time. The content will be targeted for beginner to intermediate users.

Highlighted services include: Bind/DNS, Squid, Firewalls, Samba/CIFS, DHCP, User Management, SSH and VNC. Time permitting, live demonstrations of a production environment will be presented using the Group51.org ethical hacking playground.
