Conference Fees

We have structured our registration costs so that by registering early you can save a significant amount on your registration costs. As always we also have special pricing for students attending a recognized post-secondary education institution.

Student Rates are for those currently enrolled in Secondary and Post-Secondary eduction and who are able to present a valid student ID during check-in.

Small Business/Enthusiast Rates are provided for those on a limited budget or who are paying their own registration fee personally.

Corporate/Government Rates are to allow those large organizations who derive income from the activities of the community to assist in the funding of the event. Our Corporate/Government rates remain more economical than industry normal.

Patron Sponsor Attendee is a new programme for 2011 that allows organizations without the funding to purchase a full sponsorship to support the event in a real meaningful way. There will be numerous on-site advantages to being a Patron Sponsor including invitations to all VIP events and display of your logo on your attendee badge. Additional details forthcoming. If you are considering sending 3 or more attendees please contact info@linuxsymposium.org for additional sponsorship opportunities!

All prices are provided in Canadian Dollars and include 13% tax.

Presenters & Other Exceptions

If you have a paper presentation or tutorial accepted by the programme committee you will be issued a free pass and any payment you have already made will be refunded. Hosting a BoFS or giving a Lightning Talk does not include the free pass. There are also a number of volunteer positions granted free passes, contact us for more information if you would be interested.

Alternate Lodging

Would you like to stay with a local Linux developer in Ottawa? We are currently working on this, stay tuned for more information.

Carpooling

Would you like to share the drive from a nearby city? We are also working on this, stay tuned for more information.

Cancellations

If you have registered and paid but find yourself unable to attend the Symposium you have several options, prior to June 1st you may request a full refund. At any time you may transfer your paid registration to another person by having the other person create an account and sending us the email address they used. If you are unable to cancel prior to June 1st and are unable to transfer your registration as long as you inform us prior to the start of the event we will push your registration to the following year.
