XtreemOS

Surbhi Ravindranath Chitre (schitre@irisa.fr)

XtreemOS is a Linux based operating system for the next generation grids. With XtreemOS, use your native Linux commands to execute jobs in the grid environment. Use the grid to outsource the execution of time consuming jobs to the outside world. Get the power of grid from your work station. We offer you not only the window to connect to the grid for submitting your jobs but also the needed security, isolation and monitoring mechanisms for your jobs. You can now checkpoint your jobs executing on a seamless grid and restart them to achieve job fault tolerance, debugging etc. XtreemOS comes with a choice of submitting your jobs on a stand alone machine, inside a container or a cluster of machines. Have the world at your fingertips...

In this BOFS we will introduce the features of XtreemOS.. we will see why and what makes XtreemOS innovative and powerful. We will also see the future plans and goals for this project. Above all we will love to have your comments and feedback. Come and connect to the power of grids !!
