LTSP : State of the nationBenoit des Ligneris (ben+ols@revolutionlinux.com)In this project update, we will present the Linux Terminal Server Project history as well as the current state of this project. Economy and ecology of thin client/server centric computing will be discussed. We will then focus on distribution integration for this project and then review all the new functions that have been added in the last year. Major development include : * Going large scale : the LTSP-Cluster solution * NFS to NBD * LDM : Local Display Manager. Why and how ? * 3D support : compiz on thin client now ! * Dual Head and more on thin client * LocalApps : VoIP, Skype, 3D app support on a thin client * Remote access using NoX : Citrix killer ? * LTSP in a proprietary world : support for Windows Terminal Server, Citrix, VDI, etc. The future development of LTSP will then be presented.
