ext4 Online DefragmentationTakashi Sato (firstname.lastname@example.org)
The importance of online defrag in ext4 will increase, since it is able to store files much larger than ext3. The author has developed an experimental online defrag and learned that some non-target files(victim files) also must be moved to make enough contiguous free blocks for the target file if there aren't sufficient contiguous free blocks. Its detailed implementation will be introduced in this presentation.
The target audience for this presentation is the engineer who is interested in a performance of a filesystem. And they needs a understanding of meta data for a filesystem(e.g inode, extent, super block, etc.).
