Special Events
We know the Linux community likes to enjoy themselves, that's why the Linux Symposium is famous for our special events. Here's what you can expect in '07.
Intel® Opening Reception
Wednesday, June 27th, 2007 ~ Time TBA
The Intel® Opening Reception is the perfect opportunity to socialize and relax with your friends, coworkers, and other Linux developers during the first night of the Symposium. Intel® will be displaying its latest hardware technologies and their engineers will be on hand to provide in depth technical commentary. Of course, food and beverages will be served, and you can be sure that there will be a few giveaways. Don't miss it!
IBM® Linux on Power/Cell BoFS
Thursday, June 28th, 2007 ~ Time TBA
Three Times the Fun with Power - Power processors are the basis of all three current game consoles and a range of embedded devices up through the largest servers. With a successful inaugural BOFS last year, IBM® is back with what promises to be a facinating display of the latest in Linux on Power hardware and software. There will be plenty of food and beverages available, and it is rumored that there may be a few Sony Playstation 3s that may be up for grabs. Make sure you keep Thursday night open!
Closing Reception
Saturday, June 30th, 2007 ~ Time TBA
While we would like to believe that most of you attend the Linux Symposium for the technical content, we realize that the highlight of the conference is the Closing Party. This annual event has become the cornerstone of the Symposium, with many wonderous stories emerging from a night filled with a plethora of the best imports and domestics that Ottawa has to offer. It will be a great night, and we hope to see you there!
CANADA DAY
Sunday, July 1st, 2007 ~ All Day!
We hope you can stay to celebrate Canada's Birthday! Ottawa (being the Capital of Canada) holds one of the biggest parties around, complete with fireworks, concerts, and plenty of sights! If you can delay your flight until Monday, you'll be glad you did.
