Populating initramfs with BusyBox and uClibc.

I cover why you'd want to use initramfs and how to go about it. After some introduction (history and theory and so on), we'll build a "hello world" initramfs, then get a standalone diskless system to a shell prompt. Then we can add device and network probing, learn how to hand off control to another program on another partition, and more. Along the way we'll cover several ways to debug it all.

This is a hands-on tutorial, so you might want to bring a laptop capable of building the current Linux kernel (gcc 3.2 or later), with either a CD-ROM drive or net access.
