Common virtualisation infrastructure (BOF)

Rik van Riel (riel@redhat.com)

Currently there are a number of different virtualisation technologies for Linux, including UML, VMware, Xen and IBM's pSeries and POWER5 hypervisors. These virtualisation technologies often need to solve the same problems, quite often in a similar way. It would be good to have a BOF session in which the various virtualisation developers can come up with common infrastructure for some of the common problems.

Examples of areas where common infrastructure would be useful include device discovery, memory ballooning, some virtual device drivers and host/guest storage resizing interactions.
