Linux InfiniBand BOF Session

In this BOF, we will discuss the current state of InfiniBand open source. Since last year, there has been a lot of changes in the InfiniBand open source landscape and a large amount of InfiniBand code released to the community. There are now actually multiple versions of InfiniBand HCA drivers, mid-layers, and upper level protocols available to choose from. It is however a bit confusing as to what is available and in the various open source stacks. I will present an overview of the various InfiniBand open source code stacks, the ULPs they support, and data for each stack to help people better understand what is available in open source. I also hope that others will come and discuss their experiences with the various open source offerings. I will also present and discuss the work of openib.org, a group that has formed to sort through the various open source code offerings and come up with a “best of breed” InfiniBand stack that takes the best components from all available code to make one stack.
