Debian/hppa: hacking for fun and not for profit
The hppa-linux port started in late 1998. Initially sponsored by The Puffin Group, and later by HP, the project is now completely run by volunteers. The port is fairly active, with participants from all over the world. Starting with the woody distribution, the parisc (or hppa) architecture is officially supported by Debian. We were the first to look at gcc-3.x transition, and along the way discovered many porting issues that have been fed back into Debian and upstream developers. This BOF will be a chance for people to find out more about the project. It will also be an opportunity for parisc-linux kernel and userspace developers to meet and share ideas on future developments -- linux-2.5, toolchain development, etc.
