Class based resource control

Class based resource control is a mechanism by which the hardware resources of a system are controlled by user defined classes rather than kernel defined tasks. This allows the user to control how the system resources are used and also provide an accurate measurement of the resource usage.

The object of this BOF session is to discuss about the functionalities/features, interface definitions, kernel changes required to achieve them and ways to minimise the kernel changes required without compromising the features provided.

Target audience are kernel developers who are interested and potential users of this mechanism.
