Gavriel State

Gav (Gavriel State) is CEO and CTO of TransGaming Technologies Inc., a startup that is working to improve the Wine project so that it can run off-the-shelf Windows games. TransGaming is also an experiment in using the Street Performer Protocol and a unique voting system as a method for funding Open Source development.

Prior to starting TransGaming, Gavriel worked at Corel Corporation, where he founded and led Corel's Linux Applications Development team, and later served as its Software Architect. Gavriel was responsible for Corel's use of the Wine project as a solution for moving applications such as WordPerfect Office 2000 and CorelDRAW to Linux. Prior to his involvement with Linux, Gavriel led the CorelDRAW for Macintosh development team.
