Ottawa is the Capital of Canada. Ottawa is a very beautiful city, with much Linux work happening around town. With our excellent selection of restaurants right around the Congress Centre Ottawa was a natural choice for the location of an event to bring together Linux developers from around the world.

The Linux Symposium was started in 1999 as an event to bring together the members of the Linux development community. The key to the success of the event was aiming at the grass roots development community and tailoring the event to this community.

At the Linux Symposium there is no trade show floor; there are, however, many very interesting technical talks, a limited attendance, and a very active evening event schedule.
