1999 Linux Symposium

July 22-24th, in Ottawa, Canada

Ottawa is the Federal Capital of Canada, and is a very attractive city in which to live and work.

Linux has had a strong presence in Ottawa since 1992, and today, Ottawa supports a thriving Linux development community.

The first annual Ottawa Linux Symposium will provide you an opportunity to meet with the individuals working behind the scenes in Linux development. Including Alan Cox our Keynote speaker, who amongst other jobs is the maintainer of the leading edge AC kernels; Jes Sorensen, who while working for CERN has been involved in some of the fastest Linux networking on the planet; The Puffin Group, the people behind the recently announced Linux port to the HP PA RISC systems. Sam Lantinga from Loki Software, who recently brought Civ, Call to Power to Linux; and many, many others.

"In a year rapidly filling with Linux shows in the US, it's great to see a show in Canada as well, and especially one with such a solid technical focus", comments Mike Shaver of the Mozilla Organisation.

All pricing for the Symposium is made available in Canadian Dollars. The estimated conversion to US dollars is provided as a convenience, but attendees are responsible for checking exact exchange rates.
